2009 MGBR Basketball Event Schedule

The 2009 MGBR Schedule is highlighted below. For further information regarding any of the events please contact Amanda Rainsberger at 517.962.5944. MGBR holds individual and team events that are NCAA Certified.
The Michigan Girls Basketball Report (MGBR) will open the 2009 college exposure season with the US vs. Canada Border Challenge April 17th - 19th at the Eastern Michigan University and surrounding venues. Numerous top travel teams have registered from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Canada. NCAA Certified Team Event.
Following the conclusion of the US vs. Canada Border Challenge, the Michigan Top 100 Individual Showcase will run on April 19th during the afternoon through the early evening. This event will highlight 2009 (Unsigned), 2010, 2011 and 2012 graduating classes in showcase format. Each player will play in 3 games, receive an event tee-shirt, evaluation in the Michigan Girls Basketball Report (MGBR), NCAA educational session, 2 player information sessions and also receive a listing of college coaches who attended the event. Individual players looking for a camp setting for college exposure may attend the Michigan Top 100 College Exposure Camp at Western Michigan University July 5 - 8, 2009. The camp offers skill development sessions, competitive games, guest speakers, educational and strength and conditioning sessions to help aid players overall development and exposure. NCAA Certified Individual Event.
In late July MGBR offers the Great Lakes College Exposure Classic July 25 - 26 for girls travel teams. This event will be held at Central Michigan University and Morey Courts and is another opportunity for travel teams from Michigan to showcase talent to college coaches. This event also has a high school varsity division. NCAA Certified Team Event.
The summer will end with the Michigan vs. Ohio Border Battle on July 31, 2009 at Bowling Green State University. In 2008 this event was tabbed as one of the top 3 in the month of July by college coaches and recruiting services. Almost every 2009 graduate who attended the Border Battle in 2008 has made a college commitment. The Border Battle will mark the end of the summer exposure season. Only 160 players from Michigan will be attending (invitation only). No other event on July 31, 2009 can compare to the Border Battle, as the top Michigan and Ohio prospects are already lined up for this event in 2009. Over 225 college coaches are expected to attend the event. NCAA Certified Individual Event.
In the Fall, MGBR will offer the biggest showcase of the year for Michigan players only, the Michigan Top 320 Super Showcase. The event will highlight 320 players in showcase format from the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 graduating classes. NCAA Certified Individual Event.
Two camps in August that are non-certified and geared totally towards skill development and improving for above average players are the Michigan Rising Top 100 Camp and the MGBR Elite Post Camp. For younger and upcoming talent, the Michigan Rising Top 100 Camp (1 day) August 16, 2009 for players heading into 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades in the fall will be available. Last year this event took place in June and was sold out. This year this camp has moved towards being all "skill development" camp for young players to learn new concepts and how to train for the next level. Jason Otter, NBA trainer will run the camp in conjuction with MGBR.
On August 8, 2009 MGBR is hosting a the MGBR Elite Post Player Camp for above average high school players in Michigan (Grades 9th - 12th). The post camp is invite only and a max of 30 players will be at the event. Steve Mix, NBA All-Star and professional trainer will run the camp in conjunction with MGBR.
