Michigan Top 100 Workout & Showcase Event

The Michigan Top 100 Workout & Showcase was held at Central Michigan University on October 5th. The event was certified by the NCAA and more than 40 college coaches from all divisions attended to evaluate and scout the 220 basketball players. The event represented Michigan in its entirety as players came from all over the state. Prospective student-athletes for colleges were offered a pre-event lecture, educational session, skill sessions and competitive games throughout the day. The levels of prospective athletes ranged from major D-I prospects to D-3 athletes.
The Michigan Top 100 Workout & Showcase event will be held again in 2009. An expansion of the event is accommodated the increasing numbers of talent expressing interest in attending. In addition, evaluation comments players and coaches suggested adding new components to the program mix. Particular attention will be paid to helping high school athletes increase their understanding of the recruiting process, the importance of academic progress, as well as having preparatory performance training.
