The event will be hosted by The Steve Mix Basketball Academy (Maumee/Toledo, Ohio) on Thursday July 31, 2008. The MICHIGAN vs. OHIO BORDER BATTLE event will showcase several of the Top 80 players from Michigan and the Top 80 players from Ohio in head to head competition. This event is by INVITATION ONLY and players are admitted at no cost for this event. This event will be held on the last "live" recruiting day allowed by the NCAA for the summer. The Battle at the Border will feature participants from the following graduating classes 2009, 2010 (60 total), 2011 (17 total), and 2012 (3 total). This event is the most selective multi-state individual showcase in the Midwest and is projected to draw numerous college coaches. Twenty five participants for this event were chosen based on performance at the Michigan Top 100 Individual Showcase on April 20th, 2008. The final fifteen participants were chosen at the Michigan Top 100 College Exposure Camp in early July. MICHIGAN vs. OHIO BORDER BATTLE: All participants must arrive Thursday July 31st for mandatory player registration and the NCAA educational presentation. GYM DIRECTIONS: The Steve Mix Basketball Academy Wednesday evening in the main lobby of the Holiday Inn there will be a get together with MGBR and staff for any travel team coaches, players and parents staying the night prior to the Border Battle. Snacks and beverages will be provided for MGBR guests. GAME SCHEDULE: 11am-6pm (more info will be posted in July). BORDER BATTLE PLAYER FEE: There are no costs associated with this event. Players will be guaranteed 2 games and a skill session.
